Muslim Identity in an Age of Right Wing Populism
Saturday, September 16, 2017
6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
at Alliance Française Toronto
Toronto, Ontario
A film on Toronto’s first mosque.
A national survey on Muslims in Canada.
Research on Islamophobia.
Community conversations about Muslims in the arts, anti-blackness, and youth marginalization.
We’re proud to be celebrating ten years of helping Canadians understand what it means to be a Muslim in Canada.
To mark the occasion, we’re hosting Dr. Ingrid Mattson, Fiyyaz Jaat, and Dr. Barbara Perry (moderated by Naheed Mustafa) to discuss Muslim responses to increasing right-wing populism, xenophobia and racism around the world.
Join us for a reception after the event. We’ve booked the beautiful Alliance Française de Toronto – Centre culturel and have a pay-what-you-can policy so the event is accessible to all (with a suggested donation for those who can afford it).
Looking forward to seeing you all there – please sign up now!
